Khaberni - The Asian Football Confederation has decided on the idea of reinstating the Asian Super Cup in the upcoming period.
A source from inside the Asian Football Confederation told the Saudi "Sports" newspaper that the idea of returning the Continental Super Cup is completely excluded at this time.
He added: "This file is not up for discussion even after the champions of the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League 2 are determined.
He concluded: "The Asian Football Confederation currently has no plans to arrange a match between the champions of the two competitions."
It should be noted that the champion of the AFC Champions League Elite will be determined today, Saturday, after the match between Al-Ahli Saudi and Machida Zelvia in the final in Jeddah.
Meanwhile, Al-Nassr Saudi will face Gamba Osaka of Japan on May 16th in the AFC Champions League 2 final in Riyadh.
It is worth mentioning that the Asian Super Cup was cancelled in 2002 when Suwon Samsung Bluewings of South Korea won the title against Al Hilal Saudi.
