Khaberni - A spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said, "There are no plans to hold any meetings between us and the United States in Islamabad," adding that "Pakistan will be informed of Tehran's observations."
He added that the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will meet with Pakistani officials "as part of their mediation efforts to end the war in the region."
The Iranian state television reporter said on Friday evening that the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi does not have a scheduled meeting with the American side in Islamabad, but added that Pakistan can convey Iran's perspective regarding ending the war.
Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday, ahead of the anticipated talks, according to an announcement by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.
The Pakistani Ministry stated in a statement that Araghchi "will hold meetings with top Pakistani leaders to discuss the latest regional developments and efforts made to achieve peace and stability in the region," without directly referring to talks with American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The American envoys Witkoff and Kushner are headed to Pakistan on Saturday to conduct a new round of talks with Iran about ending the war, as announced by the White House.
The White House spokesperson Carola Levitt told Fox News: "I confirm that Special Envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner are heading to Pakistan tomorrow morning for talks... with representatives of the Iranian delegation."
She indicated that it is not expected this time that Vice President J.D. Vance will be on this trip.
