Khaberni - Syrian star Qusai Khouli dominated social media platforms following a controversial appearance in the first episode of the podcast "My Story", which is presented by Lebanese media host Mohammad Qais.
The meeting witnessed a mix of strong statements and human moments that revealed hidden aspects of the Syrian artist's life.
Threats of revocation of citizenship and attempts at marginalization
In a statement that sparked shock among his followers, Khouli revealed that he was under immense pressure, to the extent of direct threats from a journalist, who demanded that his Syrian citizenship be revoked and barred him from entering the country.
Khouli decisively responded to these threats, saying: "I am Syrian by blood, origin, and upbringing".
He bitterly discussed attempts by some to overshadow his professional presence in favor of other names, adding: "God has protected me from people who do not fear God in this place".
Khouli denied receiving any special privileges during his career, asserting that he is the one who grants appreciation and privileges to others.
Tears of loneliness and longing
The Syrian artist could not hold back his tears in an emotional moment when asked about his feeling of loneliness, answering simply "of course" before being overwhelmed by his emotions, in a scene that received a wide response from the audience.
His eyes teared up again when he spoke about death, stating that he no longer fears death because it will take him to his father, whom he misses deeply, who died about two years ago.
The series "2024" and "Taim Hassan"
Professionally, Khouli settled the controversy about his absence from the series "2024" (the second part of the series 2020), clarifying that continuing the work without him was not good for him as an actor, and confirming that his "upset" had its justification and credibility, considering that the results that appeared later proved his point of view before the company and the audience.
When asked why Sabbah Company allocated a larger budget for the series of star Taim Hassan, Qusai said that the nature of the work presented by Taim Hassan and the "large village" in which it was filmed required a larger budget than his series "Five Souls".
