Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein Al-Shibli, stated that the humanitarian convoy dispatched by Jordan to Lebanon was directed by His Majesty the King, with extensive international participation involving 10 countries alongside the European Union, affirming that Jordan will continue its humanitarian efforts towards Lebanon as needed and according to the circumstances on the ground.
Al-Shibli added in statements to "Al-Mamlaka" that the convoy, which included 19 trucks, carried foodstuffs and basic relief supplies including tents, blankets, and other humanitarian needs, noting that this convoy is the third in a series of Jordanian initiatives aimed at directing international attention towards the humanitarian situation in Lebanon.
He explained that through these actions, Jordan seeks to rally international efforts to support Lebanon given the difficult circumstances it is undergoing, noting that approximately 10 countries, in addition to the European Union, participated in this initiative, forming a continuous effort to send aid to Lebanon.
Al-Shibli clarified that the Jordanian efforts in this regard are ongoing, whether through relief convoys or by coordinating international support and directing it to serve the humanitarian needs in Lebanon, reaffirming the continuation of this support in all its forms.
Regarding the mechanism of international coordination, he noted that Jordan executes the directives of His Majesty the King through integrated efforts including political coordination to mobilize support for the Lebanese position, in addition to relief coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Jordanian Armed Forces, and the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, which resulted in sending this convoy and will continue in the upcoming period.
Al-Shibli confirmed that the participation of Arab and European countries reflects a growth in the international response, especially in light of the increasing needs in southern Lebanon and displacement areas.
Concerning the nature of these aids, he clarified that the convoy is part of an ongoing aid bridge and not an emergency initiative, indicating that Jordan has provided various aids to Lebanon over the past years including field hospitals, medical teams, and relief planes, which have today evolved into a sustainable and expandable road bridge as needed.
About the regional message of this movement, Al-Shibli stated that Jordan has gained significant international trust due to its humanitarian and coordinating role under the leadership of His Majesty the King, whether in supporting regional issues or in responding to humanitarian initiatives, affirming the trust in the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization and other national institutions.
Regarding the assurance of aid delivery, he explained that there is direct coordination with the competent authorities in Lebanon, including the Higher Relief Commission and the Lebanese Armed Forces, to ensure the direct distribution of aids to shelter centers and eligible recipients with utmost efficiency.
