The Greater Amman Municipality is installing an iron pedestrian bridge on King Abdullah II Street this evening as part of its infrastructure improvement plan. It will take place from 12 midnight to 8:00 AM, for one day only.
The Director of Construction at the Amman Municipality, Engineer Hani Al-Marashdeh, said that the pedestrian bridge will be installed in the section from Khalda roundabout to Sharifa Fatima bint Nasser Mosque, as part of the municipality's plans to develop the infrastructure and enhance public safety for road users, reduce traffic accidents, and ensure safe pedestrian crossing.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Roads, Engineer Suleiman Al-Shamari, explained that executing the works requires a complete closure of the street lanes at the work site, maintaining public safety and smooth execution, which necessitates temporary traffic diversions as follows:
For traffic coming from Khalda roundabout towards Sweileh
The traffic will be diverted right towards Ghanem Waleed Ali Street, then turn left to Said Al-Malik Binou Street, from there left towards Aied Rashid Al-Sukar Street, reaching King Abdullah II Street, and then right towards Sweileh through Habiba Al-Fahri Street.
For traffic coming from Sweileh towards Khalda roundabout
Turn right towards Prince Ghazi Traffic Signal, then take a left onto Malik bin Asma Street, from there a left to Namer Al-Areeq Street, reaching King Abdullah II Street towards Khalda roundabout.
The Greater Amman Municipality urges all citizens and drivers to adhere to traffic guidelines and instructions issued by the Traffic Management personnel, and comply with the warning signs placed at the site, to ensure their safety and smooth traffic flow.
