Khaberni - The Vice President of Amman Al-Ahliyya University for Academic Affairs / Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, went on a scientific visit to the Academic Center for Dental Medicine (ACTA) at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, with the aim of exploring the latest global practices in the field of education and clinical training in dental medicine, and enhancing the prospects for academic cooperation.
The (ACTA) center is globally recognized as a leading institution in this field, ranking third globally in dental medicine according to the QS ranking, making it an advanced model in medical education and clinical training.
During the visit, Dr. Hamdan held a series of meetings with the center's administration, including the Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, Professor Dr. Fedde Scheele, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Etienne Verheijck, Head of the Master's (Clinical) Department, Professor Dr. Bruno Loos, and Head of the Bachelor’s (Basic) Department, Dr. Belinda Barma.
During the meetings, ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides were discussed, particularly in the fields of developing academic programs, exchanging expertise, and opening avenues for research cooperation and specialized training for dental students.
Dr. Hamdan was also briefed on the clinical training system adopted at the center, where the officials presented a comprehensive overview of the stages and requirements of training dental doctors, in addition to showcasing the latest methods of clinical performance assessment, reflecting the scientific advancement in this field.
Dr. Hamdan affirmed the importance of this visit in supporting the vision of Amman Al-Ahliyya University towards embracing distinguished international experiences, which contributes to developing the educational process and enhancing the quality of the outputs of the College of Dental Medicine according to international standards.
