Jordan Leads International Effort to Send Relief Aid to Lebanon

Khaberni - A joint international humanitarian aid convoy embarked today, Thursday, from Jordan to the sister Republic of Lebanon, loaded with food supplies, tents, and essential relief needs.

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization stated in a release that the convoy, consisting of 19 trucks, included participation from Jordan alongside 10 friendly countries and the European Union.

The organization explained that this effort to support Lebanon came under royal directives and is implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, and in close cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces - the Arab Army.

This relief effort included participation from Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Romania, the European Union, Portugal, Germany, Singapore, Luxembourg, Spain, and the Netherlands, alongside Jordan.

The Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, affirmed that this movement comes to ensure the high-efficiency delivery of aid, speed, and in accordance with the highest standards of humanitarian work.

He emphasized that this convoy cements the pivotal role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as a regional center for humanitarian work and a trusted hub for coordinating international efforts, which enhances the impact of humanitarian and relief responses, and reflects the advanced level of international confidence in the organization as a coordinative and logistical platform for humanitarian work.

Al-Shibli added that the organization continues to enhance its international partnerships, and expand its humanitarian response to match the scale of needs and translate Jordan's steadfast commitment to supporting brethren in various circumstances.

Al-Shibli expressed gratitude to the Syrian Arab Republic for their efforts in facilitating the convoy's passage through its territory.

Jordan had previously sent 40 trucks in the past weeks to support the brethren in Lebanon in response to the humanitarian situation there.
