The Crown Prince emphasizes the importance of developing ecotourism and its role in empowering local communities

Khaberni - His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, participated today, Wednesday, with activists specialized in eco-tourism and internal tourism, in a natural march in the Yarmouk Forest biosphere reserve in Irbid Governorate.

 

His Highness emphasized the importance of developing eco-tourism and its role in empowering local communities, pointing out the activists' role in highlighting Jordanian natural and tourist sites, and the necessity of citizens' preserving them and maintaining their cleanliness.

 

The Crown Prince listened to the experiences of the participants in the areas of awareness, environmental conservation, exploration, adventure, and heritage content preparation.

 

During the visit, His Highness was briefed on the biodiversity aspect of the reserve, managed by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, which covers an area of 20 square kilometers and is home to more than 546 plant species.

 

The reserve includes walking trails and environmental lodges within its mountainous terrain and serves as an important corridor for migratory birds, hosting dozens of animal species.
