Khaberni - Today, the President of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Khaled Toukan, inaugurated the National Exhibition for Nuclear Sciences for the year 2026, which is organized by the commission with the participation of school and university students, teachers, and researchers in nuclear science and technology.
In press statements, Toukan stated that the exhibition is an initiative of the commission to introduce the Jordanian nuclear program and promote the peaceful applications of nuclear energy and radiation and their role in supporting the journey of sustainable development in the fields of energy, medicine, industry, agriculture, and the environment. He clarified that the exhibition combines knowledge, experience, and creativity.
The Atomic Energy Commission announced the launch of the first edition of the Jordanian Nuclear Sciences Competition within the National Exhibition for Nuclear Sciences, in cooperation with national institutions. This initiative aims to enhance scientific knowledge and support creativity and innovation among school and university students, teachers, and educators across various governorates of the kingdom, especially in remote areas.
He noted that this initiative seeks to enable participants to take part in national and international events related to nuclear sciences and their peaceful applications.
The exhibition provided a comprehensive interactive space for displaying innovative scientific projects presented by the participants, reflecting a high level of scientific thinking that included fields of medical applications of radiation, clean energy, nuclear safety, radiation protection, industrial and agricultural applications, and medical uses of radioisotopes, all of which underwent a scientific arbitration process by a specialized committee of experts and academics based on creativity standards.
The exhibition hosted a number of interactive scientific events, including guided tours in the project booths, direct meetings between students and experts, and presentations on the future of nuclear sciences and its various applications.
The exhibition concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the winning projects, partners, and sponsors in recognition of the students' efforts and creativity, emphasizing the importance of continuing to support scientific initiatives that enhance the role of youth as a primary engine for scientific and technological progress.
The exhibition and the competition are a prominent milestone in promoting scientific culture in society and an additional step towards preparing a generation equipped to lead the future of innovation and creativity.
