Khaberni - The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Haitham Ziadine, met on Wednesday with the Lebanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Brigitte Touq, where they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Jordan and Lebanon, and emphasized the depth of the fraternal ties that unite the two countries.
According to a statement from the committee, Ziadine stressed the importance of developing joint cooperation in various fields, particularly political and economic, to serve mutual interests and enhance stability in the region, emphasizing the need to continue coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern.
In turn, MP Iman Al-Abbasi highlighted the importance of unifying parliamentary efforts to support Arab issues and enhance joint action to face regional challenges, contributing to achieving security and stability.
The meeting addressed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, where both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation in facing current challenges.
For her part, Touq highlighted the pivotal role played by His Majesty King Abdullah II in enhancing stability in the region, appreciating the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi in supporting Arab issues.
She expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Jordan for its continued support to Lebanon, especially in the electricity supply project, affirming the importance of this cooperation in alleviating the challenges faced by the Lebanese people.
