Khaberni - Lebanon intends to request during the anticipated talks on Thursday with the Israeli side in Washington an extension of the ceasefire for a month, according to an official source on Wednesday.
The source, without revealing his identity, said "Lebanon will request an extension of the truce for a month, and for Israel to stop bombing and destroying in areas where it is present and to adhere to the ceasefire" which began last Friday for ten days, following a meeting between the ambassadors of Lebanon and Israel in Washington, the first between the two countries in decades.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced on Wednesday that "communications are ongoing to extend the ceasefire deadline and I will spare no effort to end the abnormal conditions Lebanon is currently experiencing," while Israeli forces continue to carry out housing unit demolitions in several towns in southern Lebanon.
