Khaberni - As part of the ongoing efforts by Arab Amman University to enhance the practical aspect and link educational outcomes to the job market needs, the Faculty of Information Technology organized a scientific field visit to the National Center for Software Quality Assurance, with several faculty members and students participating. They were welcomed by the engineer Thaer Mustafa, the director of the center, along with a selection of the center's staff.
At the beginning, Engineer Mustafa welcomed the attendees and opened the meeting with a comprehensive presentation that demonstrated the pivotal role played by the National Center for Software Quality Assurance as a neutral national entity concerned with software quality assurance. He also highlighted the services provided to both public and private sectors according to the latest international standards, discussed the center's operational mechanisms in dealing with beneficiary entities, from receiving software systems, through testing and evaluation processes, to preparing technical reports that identify flaws and notes, all based on precise and internationally accredited standards. He also reviewed the major challenges facing the software sector, whether in terms of keeping up with the rapidly evolving technology, improving the user experience and interaction with systems, and presented the center’s team about the training programs provided in the fields of software testing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, in addition to introducing internationally recognized professional certifications like ISTQB, and related International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards, which contribute to enhancing the efficiency of technical staff and aligning them with job market requirements.
The meeting featured a fruitful discussion on the prospects for cooperation between the center and academic institutions, emphasizing the importance of providing students and faculty members with the latest updates in technology fields, enhancing practical training based on the application of international quality standards, and the possibility of adapting these standards to meet the needs of beneficiary parties. At the end of the visit, the delegation from the Faculty of Information Technology at Arab Amman University conducted a field tour inside the center's departments, including Dr. Bilal Khater, Dr. Alaa Abu Zouabeh from the faculty members, and the students Laith Haddad and Lin Fayyad, where the tour included the Software Testing and Information Security Testing departments, and participants were introduced to the work environment and the accredited testing and evaluation mechanisms, providing them with a direct opportunity to know the practical applications in this field.
For his part, Dr. Rami Sahweil, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at Arab Amman University, affirmed that this visit comes within the framework of the faculty's commitment to openness to specialized national institutions, and enhancing partnerships that contribute to the development of practical skills among students, stressing the importance of integrating theoretical aspects with practical ones in line with job market requirements and rapid developments in the field of information technology.
