Belgian Woman Accuses Former Jordanian Diplomat of Indecency

Khaberni - The judicial authorities in Jordan have started reviewing a case related to a former diplomat, after the case file was referred to the Grand Criminal Court following accusations by a Belgian woman of felony indecency.

The accused, who previously held the position of First Secretary, faces charges of felony indecency and misdemeanors of harm, on the background of the Belgian complainant's claim that these acts occurred during his official tenure in Brussels.

The case took place in 2025 when the accused met the Belgian woman named Khaberni, who claims that he put a substance in her drink that incapacitated her, before he proceeded to assault her in her home, according to the case file.

The Cabinet had previously approved the resignation of the accused from the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khaberni, after he acknowledged having a personal relationship with the complainant.

The Belgian filed her complaint as soon as she regained consciousness, while the investigations resulted in charges being directed at the former diplomat who in turn denied the charges attributed to him during the investigation stages.
