Khaberni - The Mexican government announced today, Monday, the killing of a Canadian tourist and the injury of six other people, after a gunman suddenly opened fire in the historic area of the Teotihuacan pyramids, located about an hour from Mexico City, in an incident that caused panic among visitors to the archaeological site.
The Mexican authorities said in an official statement that the attacker subsequently died after shooting himself, without revealing more details about his motives or the circumstances of the attack.
They also explained that the injured are currently receiving the necessary medical care in nearby hospitals, noting that they have not yet determined the exact total number of injuries or the severity of their injuries.
The Teotihuacan pyramid site is one of the most prominent archaeological sites in Mexico, attracting thousands of visitors daily.
