Netanyahu Wears Protective Jacket at Official Ceremony Amid Tightened Security

Khaberni - Unusually for official occasions, Prime Minister of the occupation entity Benjamin Netanyahu did not wear a suit at the so-called "Independence Flame Lighting Ceremony".

Netanyahu appeared wearing a black coat, clearly concealing a bulletproof vest underneath.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said: "Fearing for his personal safety, Netanyahu wore a bulletproof vest at the torch lighting ceremony."

Yedioth Ahronoth reported: "Netanyahu wore a bulletproof vest under his coat during the torch lighting ceremony at Mount Herzl."

It added: "Security measures on him have greatly increased recently, fearing Iranian retaliation."

Television screens showed Netanyahu standing with his wife Sara on his left side, and on his right side, the Minister of Transport Miri Regev, who was responsible for organizing the event.

Latter, the President of Argentina Javier Milei sat next to Netanyahu.

Since the beginning of the war against Iran on February 28, Netanyahu and many ministers of the occupation government have adopted stringent security precautions.

In the past two years, Israeli authorities have arrested dozens of Israelis on charges of cooperating with Iranian intelligence.

On the other hand, the Minister of National Security for the occupation, Itamar Ben Gvir, expressed his anger at being refused a seat next to Netanyahu during the event.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported: "The Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, and his wife left the torch lighting ceremony after being asked to move from their seats."

It added: "The minister requested to sit next to Netanyahu, but the Minister of Transport (responsible for arranging the event) Miri Regev objected and clarified that she would seat them next to the rest of the ministers."

The newspaper quoted sources close to Ben Gvir: "It is very unfortunate that Miri Regev does not realize that this is an official ceremony where all government ministers should participate."

The newspaper said: "Eye witnesses say that Ben Gvir and his wife left in a state of anger."

It added: "Minister Ben Gvir was given a seat like the rest of the ministers, but it appears that he accidentally took the place of the President of Argentina and his companions. Minister Ben Gvir was asked to sit in his designated spot."
