Khaberni - Al-Balqa Applied University announced the establishment of a College of Media, following the approval of the Higher Education Council, in a step aimed at enhancing applied education and keeping pace with the accelerating digital transformation in the media and communication sector, especially in light of the growing role of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in media content production.
The decision comes within the orientations of the Higher Education Council in Jordan to support the development of academic programs that meet the needs of the labor market and keep abreast of recent technological developments.
The University President, Ahmad Fakhri Al-Ajlouni, stated that the establishment of the College of Media is a strategic step in the university's journey towards developing applied education, and building a modern academic model that meets the requirements of the digital economy, and enhances the graduates' readiness for the job market, especially in light of the transformations witnessed by the technology-supported media sector and artificial intelligence.
Al-Ajlouni added that the college will rely on specialized academic staff and practitioners in the fields of media and journalism, which contributes to integrating practical experience with theoretical education, alongside incorporating artificial intelligence tools in the educational process and media production.
The college aims to prepare qualified media personnel who possess practical skills in digital media, content production, and visual and audio production, in addition to utilizing artificial intelligence technologies in analyzing media data, verifying information, and producing smart media content that aligns with labor market needs.
The college also adopts an educational model based on field training and project-based learning, with the establishment of specialized laboratories in digital media and artificial intelligence, and building partnerships with media and technological institutions, which enhances employment opportunities and increases the efficiency of graduates.
In the context of developing its academic infrastructure, the university explained that the college will adopt a gradual applied educational model that links technical and academic education, offering at the diploma level programs in digital media and direction.
The programs at the bachelor's level include a program in digital media and direction, which enhances the preparation of students who possess professional and technical skills in the fields of media production and visual and audio content creation.
