AlShara Visits Saudi Arabia as Part of a Gulf Tour

Khaberni - The Media Directorate at the Syrian Presidency announced that President Ahmad al-Shara will begin, today Tuesday, an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of a Gulf tour.

The Directorate stated in a communique that President al-Shara will conduct during the visit discussions with the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to explore ways to enhance bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

The Syrian President visited Saudi Arabia last October, where he met the Crown Prince, and participated in the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative conference, in a step that reflected mutual openness and a desire to rebuild communication channels between the two countries at that time.

Al-Shara's Gulf tour comes at a sensitive time in the region, with rising regional tensions and attempts to establish calm, lending this visit a political dimension that goes beyond the bilateral framework, encompassing Syria's repositioning within the new regional balances.

On more than one occasion, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara has expressed his admiration for the development observed in Saudi Arabia, expressing a desire for Syria to follow the same path taken by the Kingdom.

Riyadh is considered one of the foremost nations supporting Syria under President al-Shara's leadership, having provided significant support in various sectors, in addition to billions of dollars in investments agreed upon in recent periods.
