Saudi Arabia enters the Guinness World Records for the lowest energy consumption in the world in desalinated water production

Khaberni - The Saudi Water Corporation has marked a new global presence by entering the Guinness World Records, after a mobile station within the Yanbu production system achieved the lowest global energy consumption rate at 1.55 kilowatts per cubic meter, reflecting a qualitative shift in the concept of water production efficiency, surpassing operational improvement limits to redefining performance standards in the desalination sector.

The Saudi presence in the records followed a research, engineering, and operational path aimed at addressing one of the most complex challenges in the desalination industry, which involves reducing energy consumption without compromising reliability or production quality from 1.7 kilowatts to reach 1.5 kilowatts. Through an integrated design that combined advanced reverse osmosis technologies and precise improvements in operational engineering, it succeeded in reaching an unprecedented level of efficiency, crowned by international accreditation from Guinness.

The mobile station produces 20,000 cubic meters daily within an area not exceeding 3000 square meters, indicating efficiency in space usage, maximizing asset value, and enhancing the productivity of water infrastructure according to a smarter and more sustainable model.

This station is considered a strategic solution, not temporary alternatives, with an operational model developed that integrates environmentally friendly technologies and advanced filtration systems, making the station a model that is replicable and expandable in various operational environments.

This achievement enhances the Kingdom's position not only as the world’s largest producer of desalinated water but also as a force leading the qualitative transformation in the future of desalination, by national talents driving progress in this sector.
