Report warns 44 of new songs with artificial intelligence

Khaberni - The music streaming platform "Dezire" revealed a significant jump in the volume of content produced by artificial intelligence, confirming that 44% of the songs that are uploaded daily on its platform are now generated automatically.

The company explained in a statement issued on Monday that it receives about 75,000 music clips daily created using artificial intelligence, which is more than two million songs monthly, a clear indicator of the acceleration of this trend within the industry.

Widespread distribution but limited listening
Despite this large influx, the percentage of listening to this type of music remains relatively low, representing only between 1% and 3% of the total number of plays on the platform.

However, it is noteworthy that about 85% of these listens are classified as fraudulent, leading "Dezire" to deprive them of financial revenues, in an attempt to curb manipulation of the system.

Rapid growth over months
The new figures reflect a notable acceleration in the spread of artificial intelligence-generated music, as the number of daily clips rose from just 10,000 at the beginning of 2025, to 30,000 in September, then to 50,000 in November, and reaching 60,000 in January, before currently hitting 75,000 clips daily.

"Dezire" had launched a special tool to monitor this type of content at the beginning of last year, in an attempt to keep up with the growing phenomenon.

Strict measures against artificial intelligence content
The company is taking clear steps to limit the spread of this content by marking the songs generated by artificial intelligence, excluding them from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists.

It also announced that it will no longer keep high-quality copies of these clips, another step to limit their spread.

Global controversy after an AI song topped the charts
This development comes at a time when global markets have seen widespread debate after an artificial intelligence-generated song topped the iTunes charts in several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and New Zealand.

The company's CEO, Alexis Lanternier, stated that music produced by artificial intelligence "is no longer a marginal phenomenon," calling for collective action to protect artists' rights and enhance transparency to the public.

Listeners cannot distinguish but reject blending
A study conducted by "Dezire" revealed that 97% of participants could not differentiate between music produced by artificial intelligence and that made by humans.

Nevertheless, 52% of users believe that songs entirely generated by artificial intelligence should not be included in the main playlists alongside human-created works, while 80% demand clear labeling of this type of content.

Rising trend on competing platforms
"Dezire" was the first platform to officially adopt the classification of artificial intelligence-generated songs since June 2025, where it labeled more than 13.4 million clips during the year.

Meanwhile, other platforms like "Qobuz" have started taking similar steps, while services like "Spotify" and "Apple Music" adopt different strategies based on a mix of technical filters and transparency policies.

These movements reflect a radical transformation in the music industry, with increased pressures to establish clear regulatory frameworks to keep pace with the artificial intelligence boom while preserving creators' rights at the same time.
