Khaberni - Artist Sumaya El Khashab broke her silence to answer her followers’ questions about the reason for her few artistic appearances recently, explaining that she is still waiting for an artistic work that befits her career.
Sumaya El Khashab said in media statements: “I'm waiting for a work that befits my artistic career and it has to be strong with a strong director and production company, and God willing, there will be something good soon”.
Sumaya El Khashab absent from Ramadan drama
It should be noted that Sumaya El Khashab has been absent from Egyptian drama for two years, where her last artistic work was the series "With 100 Men", which was shown in Ramadan 2024, while she participated in the Ramadan drama season 2025 through the Gulf series "Mother 44", which included a group of Arab starlets, including: Mais Kamr, Huda Al-Khatib, Joumana Murad, Iman Al-Husseini, Leila Abdullah, Fatima Al-Safi, Lulwa Al-Mulla, and Abeir Ahmed.
The series is written by Heba Moshari Hamada, directed by Muthanna Subh, and featured a distinctive title song by Abla Fahita, with lyrics by Menna Adly Al-Qai'i and composed by Ahmed Tarek Yahya.
The events of the series revolve around 8 women who are 44 years old, living different experiences between emotional crises, family problems, and professional ambitions, as each one tries to find balance and achieve her own before missing the train of dreams.
The last of Sumaya Khashab’s works in cinema, the film "The Big Night" which was shown in 2025 written by Ahmed Abdel Allah and directed by the late Sameh Abdel Aziz, achieved a high viewership rate at the time of its screening.
The events of the film take place in one day at one of the popular festivals, showcasing the world of this festival, and the accompanying events from sessions of remembrance, various religious rituals, through a group of stories and tales that occur either for those running and working in this festival, or to the visitors during that day.
