Khaberni - The White House announced on Monday that American Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez Derimer has resigned from her position, adding that her deputy will take over the position in the interim.
The announcement came against the backdrop of allegations of "misconduct" within the Department of Labor.
The White House Communications Director, Stephen Cheung, wrote in a post on "X" platform: "Labor Secretary Lori Chavez Derimer resigned from the administration to take a position in the private sector."
With her resignation, Chavez Derimer becomes the third minister to leave President Donald Trump's administration in recent weeks, after Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi.
Kristi Noem was dismissed from the position of Secretary of Homeland Security in March, and less than a month later, Pam Bondi left the position of Attorney General.
Chavez Derimer took up the position of Secretary of Labor in March 2025, after serving a two-year term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
A number of her aides, including her office manager and deputy, also resigned in recent months, amid an internal investigation into allegations of "misconduct" within the department.
