Khaberni - Al-Ahli Saudi qualified for the final of the AFC Champions League Elite for the second consecutive time with a 2-1 victory over Vissel Kobe of Japan in the semifinals, on Monday, at the Enmaa Stadium in Jeddah.
Although the Japanese team ended the first half leading with a goal by Yoshinori Muto at the 31st minute, Al-Ahli managed to equalize through their Brazilian player Galeno at the 62nd minute, before the Englishman Ivan Toney scored the second goal eight minutes later.
Al-Ahli, the defending champions, will meet in the final on Saturday the winner of the other semifinal taking place on Tuesday between Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai and Machida Zelvia of Japan.
It should be noted that Al-Ahli, under the leadership of their German coach Matthias Jaissle, were crowned champions of the competition last season at the expense of Kawasaki Frontale of Japan.
