Belong to Secret Units Accusations Against Officers in the Israeli Army and Police for Stealing 50 Million Shekels

Khaberni - Israeli judicial and security sources revealed today, Monday, about a thunderous security and financial scandal that involved officers in secret and sensitive units in the Israeli army and police, with charges related to bribery, theft, and money laundering.

The public prosecution presented an indictment against seven officers after a joint and complex investigation conducted by the "Shin Bet", the military police, and the central court, where they were charged with exploiting their sensitive security positions to accumulate fortunes estimated in the tens of millions of shekels over the past year.

The investigations showed that the involved officers carried out systematic theft of public funds and properties and engaged in laundering these funds through digital "crypto" wallets, while cash amounts and cryptocurrencies worth more than 50 million shekels were seized in their possession.

The indictment also included three of them attempting to destroy evidence and obstruct the investigation's progress after the case's threads were uncovered.

A joint statement from the security agencies indicated that the detainees exploited their status and powers in "secret" units to achieve personal gains driven by greed, noting that among those involved in the case is also a resident of East Jerusalem.

For its part, the military censorship imposed a blackout on most details of the case due to the sensitivity of the units in which the accused officers worked, while defense attorneys described the indictment as "born in sin" and that the security system had abandoned the officers who were carrying out tasks assigned to them, according to their claims.
