Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment has completed the distribution of 263 containers and waste baskets in Al Balqa governorate, covering recreational sites, tourist locations, and archaeological sites, in cooperation with all the municipalities of the governorate.
This step came as a second phase within the implementation program of the cleaning strategy and reducing random waste dumping, aiming to improve infrastructure and sustain cleanliness, which aims to reduce random waste disposal, enhance the level of general cleanliness, particularly in locations that see a dense number of visitors during the recreation season.
The Ministry confirmed that the distribution was executed according to a well-studied field plan, established in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and partner ministries and institutions involved in the implementation, to ensure coverage of the most visited sites and improve waste collection services in the governorate.
The Ministry noted that the central waste complex in Jil’ad forests now includes containers with a capacity of 1100 liters, serving as a collection center for area visitors, thereby contributing to enhanced cleanliness and environmental preservation in natural sites.
The Ministry explained that this campaign was executed as part of the Ministry's plan during the recreation season, amid increased popularity of tourist areas and parks, contributing to environmental preservation and pollution reduction.
The Ministry affirmed that the work will continue in upcoming phases to distribute more containers and baskets, including various governorates of the kingdom, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the environmental reality and enhance general cleanliness practices.
The Ministry called on citizens to commit to using designated containers and baskets for waste disposal, contributing to the cleanliness of public sites, asserting its continuous efforts in implementing environmental programs and initiatives across the kingdom.
