Khaberni - A Pakistani security source said on Monday that US President Donald Trump informed Army Chief Asim Munir in a phone call that he would take into consideration his advice on obstructing the siege of Iranian ports for talks on ending the war with Tehran.
The United States earlier on Monday said that it fired upon and detained an Iranian cargo ship after it tried to breach the siege imposed on Iranian ports. The Iranian military stated that the ship was coming from China and vowed to respond to what it described as "armed piracy by the US military."
Concerns increased on Monday about the possibility of a collapse of the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, after the United States announced that it had detained an Iranian cargo ship attempting to breach the blockade imposed on Iran’s ports, which Iran vowed to retaliate against.
Efforts to achieve a more durable peace in the region seemed to be on shaky ground, as Iran announced it would send a delegation to Islamabad for talks if positive signals were received from the United States.
