Khaberni - Xinhua reported that the Chinese President emphasized the need to maintain normal transit through Hormuz, confirming during a phone call with the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, Beijing's support for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire.
Xi explained that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Saudi Arabia, always operating on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit. He noted that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Kingdom, stating that Beijing is keen to seize this opportunity to enhance mutual strategic trust, expand practical cooperation, and support exchanges at all levels, thus expanding the scope and depth of bilateral relations and making it a model for China's relations with Arab countries.
In discussing the current situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, Xi emphasized that China calls for a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire and the cessation of all hostilities, supporting all efforts contributing to the restoration of peace, and resolving differences through political and diplomatic means.
The Chinese President stated that "normal passage through the Strait of Hormuz serves the common interests of regional countries and the international community," emphasizing that China supports regional countries in building a common space characterized by good neighborhood, development, security, and cooperation, and that these countries should lead their future and determine their own fate, thereby contributing to achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.
