International Grant for the Cities and Villages Development Bank to Support Smart Transportation in Jordan

Khaberni - ‎ The Cities and Villages Development Bank has won an international grant of nearly one million euros for a project proposal titled: "Financing Smart Technologies and Digital Solutions in the Transport and Mobility Sector in Jordan", under the small grants program for financing institutions affiliated with the International Climate Initiative funded by the German Federal Government, and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation.
‎As part of the project implementation, the bank will launch a national competitive contest through which subsidiary grants will be provided to municipalities, civil society institutions, and universities, aiming to develop innovative solutions that support sustainable transportation and smart mobility, and enhance the role of local institutions in adopting modern technologies and keeping pace with future development requirements.
‎Dr. Wassim Al-Haddad, the General Manager of the bank, said that this win reflects the international partners' confidence in the bank's ability to develop quality projects that support the green transition and enhance innovation in municipalities and local communities.
‎ Al-Haddad pointed out that through these initiatives, the bank aims to expand its partnerships with local and international entities, which contributes to supporting the transformation toward more sustainable and smarter cities and enhancing the ability of municipalities and local communities to face developmental and environmental challenges.
