Khaberni – Geely Holding Group announced during its strategic conference in Beijing its ambitious plan until the year 2030, which aims to establish its position among the top car companies globally, focusing on international expansion and rapid transition to electric vehicles and smart technologies.
Strong Performance and Monumental Growth
Sales figures and announced targets indicate the overall performance of the group, which includes global brands such as Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, Proton, and others. The group recorded a historic performance in 2025, with global sales reaching 4.116 million vehicles, an increase of 26% annually, marking the fifth consecutive year of strong growth; moreover, electric and hybrid vehicle sales rose to 2.29 million units, representing 56% of total sales.
2030 Plan: Global Expansion and Ambitious Goals
Geely Holding Group aims to achieve global sales exceeding 6.5 million vehicles annually by 2030. The group's plans mainly focus on boosting its growth within the Chinese market as its primary market and the biggest revenue driver, through increasing its market share in the conventional and electric vehicle sectors, and developing advanced technologies that meet accelerating local demand. Furthermore, the group is striving to achieve revenues exceeding one trillion Chinese yuan, driven by expanding its product portfolio and enhancing its competitive ability within China.
Future Performance and Accelerated Growth
The group anticipates that its annual sales will surpass 4 million vehicles by 2025, reflecting a strong growth pace driven by the rising demand for electric vehicles and expansion into emerging markets, particularly in Southeast Asia and Latin America.
The group continues to enhance its presence in global markets, benefiting from strategic partnerships with international companies like Renault Group to develop and produce vehicles for overseas markets.
Smart Technologies and Future Mobility
The strategy focuses on developing smart driving systems, with the generalization of Level 2 technologies, expansion into Level 3, and moving towards commercial operation of autonomous driving at Level 4. The company also intends to launch a fleet comprising 100,000 robotaxi vehicles globally by 2030, within an integrated smart mobility system using specially designed vehicles for these services.
Development in Battery Technology
Geely revealed significant progress in solid-state batteries, where it will start testing the first internally developed battery package in 2026. The company is working on technologies that achieve energy density exceeding 400 Wh/kg, which may enable electric vehicles to achieve a driving range exceeding 1000 kilometers in the future.
