Khaberni - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received, in Riyadh, today, Sunday, the Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, where areas of cooperation between the two countries were reviewed in the context of the growing bilateral relations.
The meeting addressed the latest developments in the region, with an exchange of views on regional developments, reflecting the level of political coordination between the two sides, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
In a separate meeting, Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met with the Indian National Security Advisor, where ways to enhance cooperation in the energy sectors were discussed.
The two sides discussed efforts to support energy security and stabilize supplies amidst the challenges facing the global energy sector, according to the official "WAS" news agency.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had discussed with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the end of last March, in a phone call, the repercussions of the military escalation in the region on the stability of global security and economy.
The Iranian-US-Israeli war caused severe disturbances in global energy markets, especially with the disruption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passageway through which about 20% of global oil supplies pass, pushing crude prices to exceed $100 per barrel amid fears of continued disruption of supplies.
The relations between Saudi Arabia and India are further enhancing the paths of bilateral cooperation amidst rapidly changing international variables, reshaping economic and political alliances and partnerships.
This comes as New Delhi seeks to diversify energy sources and strengthen its influence in the Gulf region, while Riyadh is working to expand its relations with major Asian powers in line with the objectives of "Vision 2030".
