Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing started today executing the earthworks for the second part of the third phase of the Irbid Ring Road project, as part of its strategic plan to complete this vital artery, which represents one of the most crucial projects in Irbid Governorate and the Kingdom as a whole.
The project works include the execution and completion of the route extending from the end of the existing Irbid Ring Road up to Katm intersection, which encompasses earthworks and construction of box culverts, in addition to constructing a 28-meter underpass (tunnel) on Shatna Road. The work also includes constructing and fully preparing the local Shatna road with earthworks, base layers, and asphalt mixtures, as well as completing the base layers and asphalt mixtures for ramps (1 and 2) related to the Katm intersection.
Completing this project comes in response to the necessity of alleviating traffic pressure off the heart of Irbid city by providing a circular route that connects its entrances and exits, ensuring traffic fluidity and enhancing traffic safety efficiency and improving the quality of life for residents. Upon completion, the road will serve as a main artery connecting the north of the Kingdom to its center and south, supporting the commercial, agricultural, and tourism sectors, and contributing to integrating the rural economy with national development and providing sustainable investment opportunities.
Moreover, the Ministry urges the fellow citizens and road users to fully adhere to the warning and guidance signs and follow the instructions of the Public Security Directorate's staff on site, to ensure public safety throughout the construction period.
