Khaberni - Spanish media reported that Real Madrid is close to finalizing the renewal of its German defender Antonio Rudiger’s contract after an official renewal offer for one more season was put on the table, a step that reflects the management’s conviction in the team's ongoing need for his experience, especially after noticeable improvements in his physical condition and technical performance recently.
As newspaper explained, the offer comes within the framework of the policy the club follows with players over the age of thirty-two, preferring annual renewals, a policy previously applied to several notable team members.
It said: "Although Rudiger's preference was to sign a contract that extended for two seasons, indicators within the club corridors confirm a great optimism about his acceptance of the current offer, which is conditioned to last only one season."
It added: "The German defender had previously received attractive offers from the Saudi league, yet he insisted on continuing with Real Madrid, affirming his commitment to the club’s sports project. Currently, the frequency of such offers has decreased, strengthening his chances of staying at Santiago Bernabeu."
This season, Rudiger has played 25 matches in various competitions, reaffirming his value to the team, especially entering the crucial phase of the season, in which Real Madrid aims to conclude it in the best possible way.
Since joining the club in 2022, the German defender has made a clear impact, contributing to several titles, including the Champions League and La Liga, proving that his signing was a successful step on both technical and economic levels. With the season drawing to a close, his foremost objective remains to finish strong with Real Madrid, alongside preparing to represent his national team in upcoming international events.
