Tragedy in Louisiana 8 Children Killed in Mass Shooting That Shook America

Khaberni - The Shreveport Police said that a gunman in Louisiana killed eight children in shootings related to family disputes inside two different homes early this Sunday morning.

Shreveport Police spokesperson Chris Bordelon said the victims' ages ranged from one year to about 14 years old, adding that a total of 10 people were injured by gunfire.

Bordelon also mentioned that the gunman was later killed after being chased by police officers who shot the suspect.

According to Bordelon, the suspect stole a car while leaving the shooting scene and was then pursued by the police thereafter.

The police have not disclosed the suspect's name but said he was an adult male.

Officials stated that they are still gathering details about the crime scene, which spanned three locations. Bordelon explained that some of the children who were shot were related to the suspect.

Officials also said they are still collecting details from the crime scenes located in south-central Shreveport – which included the two households and a third location, with Bordelon noting that some of the children who were shot were related to the suspect.

He added: "This is a large-scale crime scene, unlike anything most of us have ever seen before."

During a press conference held outside one of the homes where the shooting took place, officials appeared shocked, asking local residents to be patient and pray as they continue to handle several crime scenes.

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith said: "I am at a loss for words; I am profoundly shocked. I can't even imagine how such an event could happen."

Tom Arceneaux, the mayor of the city located in northwest Louisiana with a population of about 180,000, said: "This is a tragedy - perhaps the worst tragedy we have ever faced. It's a horrific morning."
The Louisiana State Police said they have asked their investigators to take over the investigation at the request of Shreveport Police.

The state police have called on anyone with photos, videos, or information to report it to the state police investigators.
