Khaberni - The artistic designs for the upcoming "WWDC26" Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference have unveiled the first look at the new design of the voice assistant "Siri", which will be included in iOS 27.
It is expected that Apple's voice assistant will undergo a comprehensive redesign, with a range of new functionalities and a different visual appearance.
According to Bloomberg's weekly technology newsletter, the new design for "Siri" includes visual elements similar to the glowing lighting effect that appeared in the "WWDC26" poster.
This effect appears more clearly when using the phone in dark mode, which explains the use of a black background in the event announcement design, according to a report by "9to5Mac", a technology news site that "Alarabiya Business" viewed.
Although these designs may change before the conference in June, this seems to be the direction Apple is heading.
"Bloomberg" notes that "Siri" in its new design will appear through the "Dynamic Island" slot on the iPhone screen when activated.
Additionally, the extended Siri bar will emit a glow similar to that shown in the "WWDC26" design. Moreover, the search bar in the new standalone "Siri" app will also receive the same visual treatment.
As per Bloomberg's newsletter: "Apple's teaser announcement focuses on Siri's new look. The design, currently being tested internally, includes a 'Siri' interface within the Dynamic Island, which is the oval-shaped element at the top of the screen."
The report continued: "When Siri is activated, the island expands to display the phrase 'Search or Ask', accompanied by a glowing indicator. This design resembles how the number '26' is highlighted in the conference logo."
In addition to the static design, lighting effects also appeared in the video published by Apple's vice president, Greg Joswiak, announcing the date of this year's WWDC conference.
Second Redesign
This will be the second redesign of Siri in the era of large language models, as the first version within "Apple Intelligence" relied on a rainbow lighting effect around the screen edges.
This design first appeared in iOS 18. But with the failure of the intended features to arrive on time, it seems that Apple has returned to the starting point to rethink the design.
The new version of Siri in iOS 27 will make the user experience more compatible with other modern AI chatbots.
Users will be able to have ongoing back-and-forth conversations, make multiple requests in a single sentence, and enjoy the previously promised integration of personal context and screen awareness.
Siri's intelligence will rely on new core models using Google's Gemini artificial intelligence.
There will also be a standalone app for Siri where users can find their previous conversations. It is also expected that the separate search interfaces between Siri and Spotlight will be unified.
The new version of "Siri" is expected to be a major feature in iOS 27, which Apple will showcase at its annual Developers Conference WWDC in June. This year's keynote will be held on June 8th.
