Khaberni - The relevant authorities confirmed that the traffic monitoring system watches for lane change violations made illegally within the area of traffic lights, as part of measures aiming to enhance road safety and reduce wrongful behaviors on the roads.
It was explained that the ground markings at traffic lights clearly define the direction of each lane, whether for moving straight, turning right, or left, emphasizing that adherence to these markings is essential for regulating traffic flow and preventing violations.
It was pointed out that it is not allowed for a driver, after stopping at a traffic light, to move from the far right to the far left or vice versa within the boundary of the light with the intention of changing direction, as this is considered a clear traffic violation, even if the traffic light is red or the vehicle is in a stopped position.
They added that the basic traffic rule requires the driver to choose the correct lane before reaching the traffic light area, so that they adhere to the lane designated for the direction they wish to travel in, whether it's turning left, continuing straight, or making another turn.
The competent authorities emphasized that adherence to ground markings and proceeding according to the designated lane after passing the traffic light area helps reduce congestion, decreases the likelihood of accidents, and maintains the fluidity of traffic flow.
