Khaberni - Shreveport City Police in the state of Louisiana, USA, reported on Sunday that a mass shooting claimed the lives of at least 8 children.
The local authorities mentioned that "the ages of the victims ranged from one year to 14 years old, while the total number of people injured by gunshots reached 10 people".
Shreveport Police also stated that their officers responded to a call around six in the morning local time in the "West 79 Street" area, where the crime scene extended to 3 interconnected locations.
They added: "After leaving the scene, the suspect executed a car robbery before being pursued by the police, who fatally shot him during the chase". The authorities believe he was "the only gunman in the attack".
The police indicated that some of the children in the homes belonged to the family of the suspect, without disclosing his identity, while the investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues, with the participation of the Louisiana State Police.
