Treacherous betrayal The Mufti of Oman condemns the Israeli aggression against Lebanon

Khaberni - The Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalili, today, Thursday, condemned the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, describing the attack as "treacherous betrayal", just days after the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Al-Khalili said in a statement via the "X" platform: "How relieved and pleased we were with the outcome of the agreement between Iran and its associates, and between the United States and its associates, and how pleased we were with the United States' compliance with all the conditions imposed on it by the other party".

He added: "We had just started to feel the breezes of good tidings with the ceasefire agreement when we were shocked by the Zionists’ betrayal with their aggression against Lebanon, which resulted in hundreds of martyrs and multiple times that in wounded, which is typical of this betraying entity, and unsurprising given its nature".

The Mufti of Oman emphasized that "the Islamic nation must stand united against this betrayal, and all lovers of peace must support the oppressed and oppose the oppressors, and God is the guardian of all matters".

The Lebanese Minister of Health, Rakan Nasser Al Din, stated that the number of fatalities has risen to 203, and the injured to about a thousand due to the Israeli air raids yesterday.

The Israeli Minister of War, Yisrael Katz, announced on Wednesday, what he described as "the largest focused strike" against the Lebanese Hezbollah since "Operation Bejjer" in September 2024, noting that "hundreds of Hezbollah members were subjected to a sudden attack targeting their headquarters inside Lebanon".

These developments came hours after Washington announced a two-week truce with Iran and Tel Aviv's commitment to it, but the Israeli military confirmed the continuation of its operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
