First Gulf Official to Visit Egypt Since the Onset of Iranian Attacks on Gulf States

Khaberni - Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarragh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah visits Cairo on Sunday, in the first visit by a high-ranking Gulf official since the outbreak of Iranian attacks on Gulf countries.
It is scheduled that the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister will hold a discussion session with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Atty, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the new administrative capital.

The ministers are expected to discuss enhancing the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Kuwait in various fields, especially economic, investment, and developmental ones, along with the security and political developments in the region.

They will also explore Egypt's prominent role in supporting regional security and stability, the intensive efforts Cairo is making to contain the current escalation, and support the course of the American-Iranian negotiations aimed at reducing tension and restoring calm.

This meeting marks the first of its kind for a high-ranking Gulf official in Egypt since the outbreak of intense Iranian attacks on Gulf countries in late February.

The region has witnessed an unprecedented military escalation since February 28, as Iran launched a wide array of attacks using ballistic missiles and drones on several Gulf and Arab countries, in response to the American-Israeli attacks on Iran.

The attacks lasted for more than 40 days and resulted in extensive material damage to energy facilities and infrastructure, with a significant focus on Gulf countries.

From the first day, Egypt has strongly condemned these attacks, describing them as "aggression," affirming that the security of the Gulf is an integral part of Egyptian national security.

Cairo has engaged in intensive diplomatic efforts, including tours and coordination communications with Gulf states, and supporting initiatives to de-escalate tensions, while ensuring not to enter into any direct military alliance, but ready to provide all necessary forms of support.
