Khaberni - An Israeli military official told Maariv that the Israeli and American militaries are closely coordinated and are prepared for the possibility of a sudden collapse of the ceasefire with Iran, stating that the target bank in Iran had been updated should the war resume.
The official added that the military intelligence division is monitoring the situation in Iran, explaining that Iranian energy facilities would be among the new targets when fighting resumes.
Recently, the commander of the United States Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, visited Israel and met with Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir to coordinate on the potential collapse of the ceasefire with Iran.
The Israeli official stated that Iran is entering negotiations in a state of severe weakness, with much reduced capabilities, now beginning to emerge from its isolation and realizing the extent of the damage it has suffered.
According to the Israeli military, fighter jets from the air force and the U.S. army dropped more than 37,000 shells on Iran, with the Israeli air forces alone dropping 19,000 shells over 40 days.
Iranian Commitment to Achievements
The Iranians recognize, according to Maariv, that despite their difficult military situation, they will exploit all the achievements they have been able to maintain, the first of which is the regime’s resilience and its self-sustaining existence. Secondly, the assets they have left, such as controlling the Strait of Hormuz to some extent during the war, then the ability to launch rockets and drones towards the Arabian Gulf, and finally, maintaining their proxy, especially Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Israeli newspaper states that the American President Donald Trump realizes that the Middle East and the Arabian Gulf are capable of forming a new system of relationships, where alliances and normalization agreements between several countries are established, thereby enhancing stability and establishing a reality different from what prevailed after the France and Britain plan to divide the Middle East after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
Trump sees the big picture, according to the newspaper, and for this reason, he hosted, on Friday, and for the second time, formal reception ceremonies for the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and openly provoked him by declaring that the Israeli military should cease fire in Lebanon.
