6 Bodies in the Room A Medical Report Decides the Fate of the Accused in the Karmooz Massacre in Egypt

Khaberni - A medical report has determined the position of the accused in the Karmooz case in Alexandria Governorate, where a woman and 5 of her children were killed, with the accused being the sixth son who was about to commit suicide before being stopped by locals.

The report issued by the Abbassia Hospital for Mental Health in Cairo confirmed that the accused suffered from severe mental disorder (schizophrenia), with a lack of awareness and choice at the time of committing the crime, which means he is not criminally responsible.

Today, the investigative authorities in Alexandria Governorate decided that there were no grounds for a criminal lawsuit against the accused in the case, known in the media as the "Karmooz massacre", after proving his lack of criminal responsibility at the time of the incident.

The accused underwent a medical examination during his detainment after being arrested, when he was about to throw himself from the top of the building where he and his family lived, but the locals stopped him at the last moment, revealing the horrifying crime that left 6 dead.

The case began with a report to the security forces about a young man trying to commit suicide from the 13th floor of a building in the Karmooz area. After rescuing him, the forces found 6 bodies inside the family apartment, including the mother and 5 of her children, all suffering from cut wounds.

The investigations revealed that the family was going through difficult humanitarian circumstances, as the mother was suffering from cancer, while the husband (not Egyptian) abandoned the family after marrying someone else abroad and refusing to provide financial support, which complicated the situation inside the home further.

The investigations included shocking details, as they indicate an agreement between the mother and the eldest son to end all their lives due to the difficult living conditions.

Legal proceedings are scheduled to be taken to detain the accused in a psychiatric clinic or specialized care homes to receive treatment under medical supervision, ensuring he does not pose a danger to himself or others.
