Khaberni - The media and sports scene in Egypt has recently witnessed a state of turmoil after a severe crisis erupted between Zamalek Club and media figure Yasmine Az, presenter on the channel "MBC Egypt".
This crisis arose from statements attributed to Az, which were described as mocking and transgressive, regarding the history of Zamalek Club and its current participation in the African Confederation Cup, prompting the management board of the White Club, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, to take decisive legal and official actions to protect the rights of the club and its dignity in public opinion.
Yasmine Az mentioned on her show on the channel the day before yesterday, Thursday, that she could not believe Zamalek's qualification to the semifinals of the African Confederation Cup while Al Ahly was eliminated from the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
The source added that the board took its time in filing the complaint due to the team's link with the return leg match against CR Belouizdad in the semifinal round of the African Confederation Cup, which took place yesterday.
The source explained that the complaint includes the transgressions made by the presenter against Zamalek Club and its fans and affirmed that the club demands in its complaint the punishment of the presenter and the importance of respecting Zamalek Club and its fans, even though the channel is not Egyptian, but it broadcasts from Egyptian territory and must ensure that its content is free of anything that incites discord; this is not the first incident involving the presenter.
Zamalek qualified for the final of the African Confederation Cup at the expense of CR Belouizdad after winning in Algeria with a clean goal in the first leg and then drawing goalless in the return leg in Cairo.
