Khaberni - The family of the late musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab announced the initiation of preliminary preparations to produce a major artistic work showcasing the career of the "Musician of Generations".
The family confirmed that the project is currently in the phase of collecting and verifying the historical material of the deceased to ensure an appropriate representation of his status and extensive artistic history.
During their appearance on the "ON" network, the musician's grandchildren revealed the behind-the-scenes details of this ambitious project.
Omar Mohamed Khalil, "the musician's grandson", explained that the biggest challenge lies in covering nine decades lived by Abdel Wahab, noting that the deceased considered himself reborn every ten years, making the dramatic content rich and complex.
On his part, Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Wahab pointed out that the family possesses a treasure trove of rare audio recordings made by the musician himself, detailing precise aspects of his life, which will form the backbone of the project.
The family noted that the work will not solely rely on oral history, but will also be based on unpublished memoirs and personal writings, alongside rich historical material provided by the musician's widow to the poet Farouk Jouida, which was previously released in a book revealing bold and unconventional opinions of Abdel Wahab.
Regarding the identity of the lead who will portray the character, Effat Abdel Wahab, "the musician's daughter", confirmed that the family has not yet settled on a specific name, explaining that the required specifications are very strict as the actor must combine the look, performance style, and unique vocal signature of Abdel Wahab, which she described as a significant challenge.
In a related context, the family clarified that they are closely monitoring contemporary biographical artistic experiments, like the movie "El Sett", which deals with the life of the late singer Umm Kulthum, to benefit from the positives and avoid any directing or dramatic errors.
In conclusion, the family indicated that up to this moment, the final artistic format of the project has not been decided, whether it will be presented as a feature film or a television series that delves into the details of the 90-year journey.
