Netflix TikTok Vertical Streaming with AI

Khaberni - Netflix announced that it will launch this month a vertical video streaming service similar to TikTok within its applications, with a plan to use artificial intelligence extensively for content creation and improving recommendations.

This feature is still under testing and could help users discover video podcasts, in addition to the current list of programs and movies. The company is increasingly moving towards using artificial intelligence for recommendations after launching the search feature supported by ChatGPT technology last year.

Co-CEO of Netflix, Gregory Peters, said: "The systems of recommendations based on new model architectures not only improve the current customization but also allow us to iterate and improve much faster, and add support for different types of content more efficiently."

Co-CEO, Ted Sarandos, added that he believes AI tools will enhance the entire content creation process, saying: "Generally, we expect that general AI will improve the quality of the content."

Last month, Netflix acquired InterPositive, an artificial intelligence innovation company owned by Ben Affleck, which Sarandos said has garnered interest from creators.

Netflix also expressed its desire to use artificial intelligence to enhance its ad bundle, provide new formats and customization options for better returns, and the company expects to achieve ad revenues of 3 billion dollars this year.
