Container Ship Damaged by Unknown Projectile Near the Coasts of Oman

Khaberni - The British Maritime Operations Authority announced it received a report about a container ship damaged by an unknown projectile near the coasts of Oman.

The authority mentioned in a statement: "We received a report about an incident 25 nautical miles northeast off the coasts of the Sultanate of Oman".

It added: "We received a report about a container ship damaged by an unknown projectile that resulted in damage without resulting in a fire".

It pointed out that the authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

In a separate statement, the authority reported that "it received a report about an incident that occurred 3 nautical miles east of the Sultanate of Oman. A captain of a cruise ship reported seeing a water impact near the ship."

This comes after the announcement by the Iranian military headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya today on Saturday that it has reinstated tight military control over the passage through the strait, due to repeated American violations.

The war began on February 28 with a US-Israeli attack on Iran and resulted in thousands of deaths, expanding its scope to Lebanon where Israel launched attacks. The conflict also led to a rise in oil prices due to the effective closure of the strait.
