Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said on Saturday that Jordan supports the efforts of the Lebanese government in asserting its full sovereignty over its territory and ensuring the exclusivity of arms in the hands of the state.
Safadi added, during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, that Lebanon deserves to enjoy security and peace, noting that the current government is making every effort to extend its full sovereignty over all its territories.
He mentioned that Lebanon has suffered significantly from Israeli aggressions, stressing the necessity of Israeli withdrawal from every "inch of Lebanese territory".
Regarding the war with Iran, Safadi said that stopping the war must always be permanent, and negotiations should contribute to preventing a recurrence of what happened.
He emphasized that there must be an appropriate response to interference in the internal affairs of states and the use of proxies and proxy wars, and undermining the sovereignty of states in order to achieve peace and stability in the region.
Safadi questioned "Why does Iran target countries in the neighborhood when we have no involvement in this war?"
He continued that the region faces another source of threat, which is the failure to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of justice and the Palestinian right to freedom and to establish their state on their land according to international law, which would achieve lasting peace in the region.
He mentioned that what happens in the Gaza Strip and the illegal Israeli measures that undermine the means of peace, including the building of settlements, annexation of land, economically strangling the Palestinian leadership, and people have been forgotten because of the war with Iran.
He explained that Israel also attacks Syria, at a time when the whole world stands behind its stability while the Syrian government pursues a convincing path of reconstruction, as they have announced that they do not want conflict with everyone, yet Israel attacked them.
