Khaberni - Google has started taking action regarding nudity apps on its app store "Google Play", after a recent report revealed the presence of many such apps on both "Google" and "Apple" app stores.
The report indicated that despite "Apple" and "Google" policies clearly restricting apps that promote exploitation or abuse, when searching terms like "nudity" or "stripping" in both "App Store" and "Google Play", dozens of these exploitative apps can be found.
It is said that both app stores promote these tools and suggest them via the autocomplete feature. What's more concerning is that some of them are classified as suitable for users of all ages, meaning that even children can legally download them, according to a report by "Android Authority", a specialized technology news site, reviewed by "Arabiya Business".
In response to this report, "Google", in a statement to "Android Authority", said it had started taking appropriate actions and investigating the issue.
A spokesperson for "Google" said: "Google Play does not allow apps containing sexual content. When violations of our policies are reported, we investigate and take appropriate action."
He added: "Many of the apps referred to in this report have been suspended from Google Play due to policy violations. Our investigative and enforcement actions are ongoing."
It appears that "Apple" has also started taking similar measures. In response to the report concerning nudity apps, it told Bloomberg that it had removed 15 apps.
For comparison, the report found 20 nudity apps on "Google Play" and 18 apps on "App Store".
