Alibaba Launches Model That Simulates the Real World for Developing Games and 3D Videos

Khaberni - Alibaba Group Holding, a Chinese conglomerate, launched a new artificial intelligence model that can be used for developing games and creating video clips that simulate the real world, marking a step towards expanding its product range to compete with Tencent in its pursuit to profit from this technology.

On Thursday, "Alibaba" - the e-commerce giant - unveiled "Happy Oyster," known as the "world model," capable of creating three-dimensional environments and interactive video clips.

The company stated that the new model could be used to produce movies, video content, and games, according to a report by Bloomberg.

Alibaba has set an ambitious goal to quintuple its annual revenue from cloud computing and artificial intelligence to reach 100 billion dollars within five years.

In recent weeks, the company has vigorously launched a series of new artificial intelligence models and restructured its organization with the aim of refocusing efforts on profiting from this technology and recouping some of its investments.

The company mentioned in a post on the X platform that the model unveiled on Thursday was developed by a new business unit called "Alibaba Token Hub," and stated that the tool is currently available on a limited scale during the early access phase.

Last week, the company unveiled the "Happy Horse" model for creating videos, which has caused a sensation in the artificial intelligence sector in China, announcing its lead in global rankings.

"World models" aim to simulate the characteristics of physics and space in the real world, laying the foundation for three-dimensional content. These models are used for training robots and enhancing the ability of autonomous vehicles to recognize their surrounding environment.

Tencent owns its open-source "Hun Yuan 3D" series of world models, while "Google" operates the "Genie" model.
