The people, the land, identity, and the flag.
Who are they? Since when? What is their identity? And their banner (the flag)? .
On 4/16 every year, Jordan and Jordanians celebrate their symbol, their dignity, and the esteemed and sacred status of their fluttering flag.
Hence the focus on the symbolism and sanctity of the flag, and the meanings and significations of the colors of the Jordanian flag .
Since Jordan today is writing the narrative for generations, it is essential to pause and reflect carefully to clearly define each period with utmost importance because the narrative establishes the history and civilization of nations, peoples, and nations, and this important history will be discussed and passed down by future generations.
We will explore in this regard together the narrative and then the significations of the colors of the Jordanian flag from what I have heard over the past five decades until today.
It is said that the colors of the Jordanian flag signify that:
The red color symbolizes the Hashemite banner - the banner of the Great Arab Revolt.
The white color symbolizes the Umayyad state
The black color symbolizes the Abbasid state
The green color symbolizes the Fatimid state
And the seven-pointed star symbolizes the seven repeated verses, which are the seven verses of Surah Al-Fatiha in the Holy Quran, known as the seven repeated because they are repeated in every unit of the prayer, and prayer is not valid without them.
Unfortunately, some groups always believe they are capable of driving public opinion with partial ideas and information, as if religion has become their exclusive domain and no one else may cite the religion and the Prophetic biography of the noble prophet Muhammad peace be upon him except them. When you refer to books on jurisprudence and the noble Prophetic biography, you find that many scholars talked about the colors of the attire of the noble prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, his favorite being white, and he often wore a black turban and a green garment, and wore red, though it is not established that it was purely red but rather a garment striped with red, and it does not harm us, rather, it is a great honor for us that our national flag carries religious significations linked to the master of humanity, our master Muhammad peace be upon him, and in fact linked with all noble prophets' biographies from our father Adam, peace and blessings from God Almighty and His pleasure upon them all.
In conclusion, I must say that the dear Jordanian flag, which is dear to all of our hearts and is the source of our dignity and honor, is not from the green of our meadows, the red of our grounds, and the black of our sites. And the seven mountains of Amman
Rather, from meanings and significations deeper carried by the noble Hussein bin Ali since the outbreak of the Great Arab Revolt.
May God preserve the great Jordan under the shadow of His Majesty the Hashemite, the dean of the pure House of Prophethood, and preserve the highness and trustworthiness of His Crown Prince, the noble Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and every year may you be well on the occasion of the Day of the Flag, the banner of dignity, pride, and honor.
