Khaberni - The Egyptian General Authority of Meteorology issued a statement warning of weather fluctuations that affect various parts of the country, including notable activity of wind that raises sand and dust.
The meteorology explained that the weather will see a clear variance, being cool in the early morning, then turning hot during the daytime on Greater Cairo, the Delta, and Northern Upper Egypt, while it tends to be hot on the northern coasts, and extremely hot in areas of Southern Upper Egypt, returning to moderate during the nighttime hours.
The statement noted the possibility of rain ranging from moderate to thunderous in areas of Sallum, Marsa Matrouh, Siwa, and Alamein, in addition to parts of the Red Sea mountain chains, Gulf of Suez, and Gulf of Aqaba, with the possibility of light rain extending to some parts of Alexandria and areas in central and southern Upper Egypt, which may reach the level of floods in some areas of Sinai.
The Authority added that wind speeds range between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in most areas, which leads to raising sand and dust and reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1000 meters in some areas, with expectations of renewed wind activity during the daytime.
The forecasts indicated that the condition of the Mediterranean Sea ranges from moderate to rough with a wave height of two and a half to three meters, while the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez range from moderate to rough with waves reaching approximately two and a half meters.
Temperature variations are recorded among the provinces, with Cairo registering about 30 degrees Celsius as a maximum and 20 degrees as a minimum, with higher increases in areas of Southern Upper Egypt, and a relative decrease on the northern coasts.
The Authority concluded its statement by emphasizing the need to exercise caution while driving, especially in areas affected by dust and reduced visibility, and to follow weather reports promptly due to the ongoing state of instability.
