Khaberni - The decision by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to change the names of several areas in the city of Aqaba has raised questions about the fate of the officially approved designations at the Land and Survey Department, especially regarding real estate records and official documents.
According to the decision, the changes are part of a reorganization and modernization of area designations in line with the city's urban development, where a number of neighborhood names have been replaced with new, modern-oriented designations.
However, experts believe that implementing these changes on the ground requires direct coordination with the Land and Survey Department, to ensure the unification of designations between official entities and to avoid any confusion in the transactions of buying and selling or property registration.
The importance of this coordination becomes apparent as citizens and investors rely on the official names recorded in deeds and contracts, raising questions about the mechanism for updating this data, and whether it will be adjusted automatically or will require additional legal procedures.
The decision is part of efforts to develop the city of Aqaba and improve its urban organization, amid affirmations of the need for alignment by all official bodies to ensure smooth implementation and to not affect property rights or real estate procedures.
