The Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release, "Moscow emphasizes the importance of maintaining the security of international trade movement and not exposing it to any threats amidst current tensions, especially in the Middle East region, where there is a need to adhere to international humanitarian law and avoid escalating situations that exacerbate the suffering of peoples".
